I thought about posting this video 4 days ago, but I decided against it.

After rethinking that, I think it is important.

A week or so ago, about 20 people in Dover jumped/attacked a young man and woman. As if that isn't shocking enough, somebody (friends of the attackers,) videotaped the incident.

It is extremely graphic, and it may boil your blood.

4 more charged in Dover melee | The News Journal | delawareonline.com

I called Dover PD, 3, 6, and 10 because this enraged me so much to see this happen (which was reminiscent of some of my experiences in Wilmington.)

Finally, after getting flooded with calls, Dover reviewed the tape, and is making arrests. Why this wasn't all over 3,6, and 10 is really what baffles me.

I can only shallowly hope that this wasn't a race issue, but being a Delawarean, I can't help but believe that it was a factor.

It's absolutely disgusting. I'm still riled up over it!! I'm sure these pieces of crap were hard-working members of society (insert eye roll).

My husband deals with this type of trash day in and day out--no wonder people in his line of work burn out so easily.

I'd like to point out that "Delaware's Youth" is a misleading caption regarding this video.

Arrests have been made, and will continue. So far, the ages of those taking part in this brawl (as per Dover PD) are:
31, 21, 23, 12, 44, 19 and 32.

I think this is appropriate for the Delaware forum as long as discussion relates to Delaware, not hate crimes in general.

Kinda reminds me of the movie "Mississippi Burning" except the roles are reversed, it's payback time and I'm sure glad I don't live in Dover!

By youth, I mean 15-35. I guess I use the term loosely, but by this, I mean the "Gangsta Rap" Generation, who matured in the 90s and 2000s.

It is clear that this was a source of pride for the aggressors involved, as the tape wasn't given to police, but posted on a rap site.

The appropriate title would be "America's Urban Youth."

Question is, why did these persons do this in the first place? This is wrong no matter what.

Agree with Pirate. I just found the entire ordeal disturbing. I mean, you had a dozen+ lowlifes beating the heck out of two people. I suppose the "pack mentality" is what disturbs me the most. Even more disturbing are the smirks on the aggressors' mugshots. And one was 44 years old?!?! A repeat offender at that, and nothing but trash!!!

I had to travel to Dover today for my job (near the hoodish area), and you're darn right I had my doors locked! Sheesh.

The ages of some of these scumbags is disgusting, Give me ten minutes a piece for all involved over the age of 30. Eye for an eye kind of thing.
