I grew up on Foulk Road (actually lived on old family farmland), and my parents moved us to Oak Orchard (outside Millsboro) in 1985--I was 11. I was born here, raised here, attended and graduated from two colleges here, married twice here, divorced once here, had a child here (now 15), and I will be leaving here for Cape Coral, Florida in three years. I've lived in Wilmington, Oak Orchard, Warwick, Lewes, and currently Ocean View.
Hey neighbor, sort of. I live 2 miles from where I grew up in the Brandywine Hundred area also. Family also goes back to the 1700's. Have a road that shares the same name as I. Seen N. DE really change in the 50 years I've been here. I'll miss DE sort of also as we are moving to Port Charlotte, FL as soon as our house sells here, just North of Cape Coral.

I remember Rehoboth/Dewey when it was a sleeply little town that never was busy, even in summer. Dollies and the old stone water fountain on the boards. We used to sit by Dollies and watch everyone trip on the cement ledge and laugh. Wrong to do in hindsight. Cheap jollies I guess. Grandparents sold their cottage on Swede st back in '72 for $11K, fully furnished. Still looks the same today.

FrogMan--I bet we are related!! Almost sure of it, especially after I read the part about a road being named after your family. My sister lives in Holiday Hills, off of Grubb Road--stills have lots of family up there.

I'm getting ready to leave for Dewey as I type this. Can't wait to see all the bands at the Rusty Rudder

I am a married 40 yr old with 1 adult child, 1 teenager, and 1 6yrs old. both husband and I were raised in NYC and then lived on Long Island for the past 15 years. Our goal is to move to DE but we don't have enough equity due to this horrile economy to sell and buy our dream house in Middletown, DE. We visit our our dream house twice a year and I cry everytime its time to leave because I wish I could stay.
