I'm going to be working in downtown Wilmington (Delaware Ave & w 11th st roughly) for a couple of weeks and I was wondering what the best way to get there would be from Mount Laurel, NJ.

As of now, I'm deciding between 2 options.

1. Take NJTPK South over Del Mem Bridge then hop on 95N to exit 7
OR
2. Take 295 South over Commodore Barry Bridge then take 95S to exit 7A.

Anyone have any familiarity with the traffic patterns that could offer advice on the best route??

Thanks!

It might depend on where in Wilmington you need to go to. My always commuting husband thinks NJTP.

Dependent on the time, I'd probably go over the Commo Barry bridge and head 95 South. Reason is 95 N to Wilmington is almost gridlock somedays. I head South 95 daily through Wilm and would hate to be going the other way.
In the am, 95 N to Philly is real busy, south not so much (south of the blue route).
The Jersey part I can't help with.

I would highly recommend taking the Comm Barry and not NJTPK. The Del Mem drops you off much further south than you want, and a previous responder got it right when they said that the traffic on 95N from the bridge up into Wilmington is terrible in the morning.

I'd even more strongly recommend that route for your commute home at night - 95S out of Wilmington in the 5ish hour is terrible - you can get to 95N within a couple of minutes and be on your way into PA within 10 minutes. It's only a few exits up to the Comm Barry, and even though those first few miles of PA can be slow at the end of the day, it's much better than the parking lot that is 95S out of Wilmington.

Once on 95S out of Wilmington it really isn't that bad, especially if you are taking the left exit to the DMB...that lane moves pretty quick
