I missed the whole thing in here Philly. I was walking back from the store and didn't feel a thing on the street. When I turned the corner, I saw people exiting a building and wondered what was going on. I soon learned. Apparently everyone in the high rise offices here was quite aware, including my partner who was ironically on a call with a colleague in California at the time. Not aware of any damage, including to our condo. My folks in Seaford also felt it. My mom thought my dad was shaking her sofa until she turned around and to see no one was there.

Glad all seems to be OK with everyone.

We live in a 100+ year old home put together with pegs, and having the same type of foundation as you have, and I'm thankful for that. Hope we don't hear any bad news about manufactured homes in the earthquake's path.
We didn't know there had been an earthquake until we started getting texts asking if we were ok.

Caladium--not too concerned with the upcoming storm, but I'll leave if I think it will be too bad...not because of danger, but because living without electric (no showers...eww!) for days is enough to chase me away. I never really worry about storms. I mean, if it's going to hit, there's nothing I can do about it but have my exit route planned out. My "life happens" attitude frustrates my husband, but ahhh... c'est la vie .

Just talked to one of my friends who live close to the epicenter -- the first day of school was scheduled for tomorrow but has been canceled. Apparently pictures were falling off walls, water was coming out of toilets, the whole shebang. Of course, the nuclear plant in Mineral (and at least one more nearby) was shut down for awhile.

Wild stuff.

DD lives in DC and has damage to her appartment building. Her place of employment was evacuated. Was much worse there than here.
Most people said there was shake rattle and rolling but we didn't feel anything. Only thing I can figure we were driving in the car at the time.
I was shocked when I found out about the quake.
Just glad everyone is okay.
Scary stuff.

So much for excitement in Delaware! We haven't had this much hullabaloo since I don't know when! They evacuated state buildings in Dover - Dept. of Transportation and others, just as a precaution.

It was a strange feeling to run from this big old house out onto the front porch, only to feel the porch floor moving and seeing the porch light overhead swinging. Hope I don't experience that again!
