I'd talk to a lawyer and put up security cameras in the front of my house immediately. I'd also walk and look wherever I want, possibly carrying a video camera with me (most newer phones have one built in). Crazy??? yes....but necessary. Good luck.

James420, I love your post....ROFL!!! What makes it even funnier is that I am from up your way and know what you mean....LOL!!!

Nuts2uiam and jtees4 have great advice. I was about to recommend the cell phone video as well, but I see it's already been mentioned. You'll only need to have it on for the small amount of time you walk by the neighbor's house.

I am sooo thankful for my good neighbors. I've had only one "issue" with a temporary neighbor in the 9.5 years I have lived here, and it was very short lived. The "issue" is gone, hopefully never to return. This is a sad situation for you, cgerlach1. Good luck.

Oh wow, she is really mature with her nasty facebook posts. Live your life the way you want to live it. Enjoy your days, sip cocoa or tea on the porch and enjoy life. No reason to let some crazy let get you down!

I was hoping to get away from the crazies leaving the DC suburbs, but it's true, they are everywhere. Good luck!

sorry to hear about your situation but I would take others advice. live your life and don't stress about the lady across the street. as long as she doesnt come near your house or anything, why stress? Sit outside and go for a walk anytime you want and look at anyone you want, no law against that. I wouldn't let anything that police officer said get to you, he was just trying to difuse the situation. If you have a phone that records, turn it on if she ever approaches you so you can document it. Don't let this lady ruin your home life. The best revenge is for you to be happy and ignore her. If you have evidence the prev owner knew about the water issues/leak then I would take that up with them, they should have disclosed that info. Talk to a lawyer

I did take up the water issue with the former owner and did go to a lawyer. The people moved to Texas which makes it costly to persue. I never spoke to the lady across the street about any of MY PERSONAL BUSINESS. The problem lies in the fact that the former owner tells my neighbors everything since they are friends. We moved in to our new home with all the neighbors knowing all our negotiation details, of course, slanted to make us look like evil animals. This is tragic to my sensibilities of how people should behave. I moved from a community where we all lived on an acre or more and no one knew anyone else. I wanted to be in a tight knit community where people get together to do things. I moved into the neighborhood with all good intentions toward everyone and have been slammed in the face with small minded morons. I'm not saying everyone I've met is a moron, but all of my neighbors think they know me by what was said, which were lies, and don't give me a chance. This lady lies and lies and has made it her life's work to make me miserable. one of the neighbors taunts me with silly waving with dumb grins on their faces. The people I'm speaking of are senior citizens. I realize now that these women have sucked me into their vortex of hell for their entertainment, but I'm still at a loss. I'm trying to stay positive and take everyone's advice into consideration and hope it all blows over. Fortunately this is a transient community, air force families. Thanks everyone.

You know that saying be careful what you wish for....what a nite mare.

Its amazing how some seniors choose to use their time. Good grief, they need a hobby. I'd never live in a community of retired folks...

I haven't read all the responses yet but in Connecticut which is where I lived prior to Delaware there is a law that any damage from smoke fire and water must be disclosed, that being said if Delaware has the same law you would have legal recourse with the agent and the homeowner. Considering what they have put you through I would pursue that course of action.
By the way I can relate to a deranged neighbor, my old neighbor in CT is an alcoholic and in the 10 years I lived next door he broke his wife's arm 3 times. I had the police dept on speed dial but the state would never press charges and his wife wouldn't either. The prior owner to me in my CT condo was a very religious woman and in his drunken stupors he would yell satanic remarks until one day she got so scared she moved out and rented the unit. Since at this moment my condo won't sell I told the President of the condo association that should I have any problems with my tenants due to him I will take him to court. The Pres informed me the deranged neighbor is already on his way to court because he installed a new front door and refuses to paint it the proper color. Yipee !!
