Hey James420...glad to hear you're all settled in!! I know the pond you're talking about too--very popular spot. Nope, I doubt you'll ever get mugged at the Rehoboth Wal Mart.

Traffic isn't bad right now, but wait until spring break....ahhh!! A realtor neighbor of ours said that as of December, rentals in the Ocean View/Bethany/Fenwick area were booked at 90 percent capacity already. It's going to be one heck of a summer, and not in a good way (unless you are a business owner or like crowds).

If you patronized any of the local watering holes ( back then ) on Long Neck then yeah the chances are very high..

And ugh to that traffic. Miss the old days yet? lol Granted even back then it had started to get bad.

I remember Red Dog--my mom locked us in the house, LOL!! Luckily, I lived in a quiet, newer community, but surrounding communities were rather scary and brought in crime. There wasn't much to do in Oak Orchard unless you were a drug addict or drug dealer....which I was neither and jumped at the chance to leave!!

They are placing turn lanes in the middle of route 26 and also widening the shoulder for bicyclists and pedestrians, and for this I am grateful. I just noticed last week that we are getting a sidewalk on Fred Hudson Road--that will be wonderful!! This road leads right to route one and is used by many bikers and pedestrians during the summer months.
Yeah i did not much care for that Riverside and or area either. And yep that area did seem out of place considering the rest of the area. Always wondered about that ( how i got like that ) but never got around to asking. Most of the issues were near where that Riverside is at if i recall correctly? A few of them newer communities BEFORE you get back there seemed nice though? I knew a few who lived back there and never had a problem when i went to visit them. They lived a little closer to 24 though..

For some reason i had thought they did that already on 26 from near that Hockers ( Maybe it was the bridge? ) on in.. ouch. Maybe it was something else they did? Hopefully it helps out some even if a little. As said i remember that area being terrible with traffic back when i lived there. Can only imagine it now..

In regard to traffic remember this is March.
Give it time and Long Neck etc will have it's own High School. Remember there was a time there was no Elementary school there. Truthfully i am surprised there is not one yet with the way that area has and continues to explode.

They do not serve any fried foods at all and don't have facilities for frying. They use alternative techniques to simulate the textural effect of frying in some cases, though mainly they do roasting and grilling as cooking methods. They do a good deal of Asian-fusion stuff. Definitely worth a visit.
Interesting. I have a friend whose son took her there, and she said that the portions were miniscule - which I guess accounts for part of the lowcal count. I've been by there several times while on my way to the Concord Mall. Cool building.

I moved here in November and I am still happy as a clam. I don't have a clue what these people are talking about in the area of clothing and high end stores. In CT we had Macy's and Macy's and Macy's. That was it beside the fact I never liked Macy's you will certainly see yourself coming and going in CT as for the most part its the only major department store outside of Hartford and Stamford which do have some additional stores. I don't see the problem with Christiana Mall or the Outlets at Rehoboth.
Boscov's has the best selection of merchandise in one place that I have seen and my best friend agrees with me, she lives and shops New York City. I think sometimes people don't know what they really want. You can't live in small town American and have the amenties of a major city, it's either one or the other.
The only store I miss in the entire state of CT is Stew Leonards. Anyone that says they dont miss Stews has to be a big fibber. They have great food at reasonable prices and lots of giant puppets singing and dancing making grocery shopping a joy. The kids like it too LOL. They also brought back the petting zoo which was my all time favorite spot to visit.
I spent a year going up and down the eastern seaboard to find where I wanted to hang my hat. I wanted to be close to the water and would like to be in a rural area. I never even considered DE but came through here just to take a different way back to CT and BINGO. Sometimes when your not looking what your looking for appears.
