He would bring an experienced and knowledgable presence to the issues that surround this countries' relationships with the rest of the world, which is desperately needed!
I doubt he will make the nomination too. The idea of secretary of state sounds good!

Hey gang,

I am still catching up... supposed to be unpacking boxes but seem to only manage leaving the house all day while the kids are at school!

You guys are a riot! Um, elizamary, Bill Clinton??? I have heard of stranger things... I guess since I'm now officially a resident, I'll have to check out Mr. Biden!

Mary

Hey Mary.
I'm not wrapped to tight but Peezweez started this. LOL

Yes you are officially a resident and a big WELCOME. I read a couple of your other post and agreed about the health care being a nightmare. It truly is and you have to ask Lots of questions!!

You will be unpacking for a while to come. It was just Bill and I and took me almost 3 months to get sort of settled. Well, I was waiting for furniture and couldn't unpack some boxes till he delivery.

elizamary,

I have been terrible about focusing on unpacking... it has been much more fun to venture out while the boys are in school instead. Plus, we moved here with the intention of buying furniture, so the need for dressers, bookcases, etc. is my current excuse to let the boxes sit in the garage.

In fact, I'm off to Spence's Bazaar today to find furniture bargains. I spent an hour or so there yesterday, and saw a lot of the old furniture style we like. I told Paul last night he'd better put some more money in the bank!

I PM'd you and LASH; if you're up to an adventure, come on up to the Bazaar. I'll have to leave by 2:30, but it looks like big fun. And lunch with the Amish is making me hungry already.

Mary

Each time we go to Delaware, we stop off at Spence's and shop the Amish market. I love tasting all the various cheeses and always stock up on the relishes and dressings ... and never seem to buy enough.

We usually get there relatively early and when we arrive every table is filled with someone who's enjoying a hearty breakfast.

Hi Mary,

Got your PM but explained I couldn't make it today

Maybe another time. I had been to spencers just once before and been meaning to get back soon.

Charley,

There is nothing like the Amish market. We also like Bylers on RT 8.

In an effort to stay with the original topic of my thread, I'm adding this link from The News Journal. Please consider the posts from the readers about education in DE.

http://www.delawareonline.com/apps/p...=2007709140333

I realize this is not information that is of interest to many people. I am curious to see if any long-term Delaware folks who have additional information or opinion about DE public education may be reading here....maybe someone from DSEA.

Also, again, these articles may be of interest to someone just learning about the state.

I don't truly don't want to appear rude, however I'm requesting that we stay on topic with the OP. If there is no interest, then the subject can go to wherever dead threads go. Thanks!

Sorry rockky... it was totally my fault. To be serious though... I would love to see some long-termers respond as well about the public education. Being that I have a 10 & 12 yr old, public education issues are very important in my life. I will say our experience so far is miles ahead of the area of NC we came from.
