I'm looking into getting apartment which is built out of a Victorian house in Trolley Square. Telling my friend this, she replied with, "Watch out for the roaches...". This apartment is on the first floor, is anyone familiar with Trolley Square and a roach problem? Is the first floor a bad idea? Any opinions would be great. Thanks!

Buildings are infested with roaches; not neighborhoods. Also, it has nothing to do with the floor (see first sentence).

Maybe she was thinking of stink bugs. They're everywhere around here and especially visible in late autumn and winter, when they want to be indoors.

While no doubt there are some roach infested buildings around here, I don't gather that roaches are especially bad in Delaware overall. In Austin, TX and in much of the southern US, they are ubiquitous and you are going to run into some of them even if you don't do things to attract them (they also have the huge water bugs commonly known as roaches).
