I think you would be quite happy in Sussex County. As Liz said Cape and Indian River are great school districts. My son just graduated from Sussex Central which is part of Indian River School District. We were very happy with elementary and high school. Not too thrilled with middle school. You will find some decent reasonably priced housing inland.

If you want to stay away from hypocritical bible thumpers then you may want to stay away from the Indian River School District. Just google the school board and you will discover a long history of religious intolerance.
I would look at Northern Delaware instead.

I am sure there are plenty of wonderful things happening in the Indian River School District but better our new friend from Florida know about the religious intolerance that exists before moving there.

As an explanation for those not familiar with this mess.
As part of the opening of the school day students used to recite the Lord's Prayer along with the Pledge of Allegiance. Someone who did not want their child exposed to such a terrible thing filed a lawsuit to stop the prayer. They won the prayer can no longer be said.No Christmas parties or Christmas or Easter decorations in the Cafeteria. After this person won costing the taxpayers much money and taking funds that could have /should have been used for the students they withdrew their child and moved most likely to start trouble somewhere else.
I keep waiting for someone wanting to stop the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag.

I noticed the school district still has Christmas break and Easter Break listed on their calendar. Interesting. Do non-believers still have to attend school?

A fast answer to your question is "no". During the school breaks, atheists can partake in any activities that suits them such as: witchcraft, tree hugging, worshiping mother earth, the sun god, or other heathen activities as long as its with in the law.

Now eaglenick will never move here.

Just to be clear both of my children have attended or do attend private religious school. I love religion. I just don't want someone deciding what if any religion people should follow.

My answer would be , its cool to have any religious beliefs you want, but I think the opposite is true. I think Christians are tired of having Atheists and other non-Christians religions shoved down their throats, or made to maybe accommodate that particular belief. I’m not saying that there are not religious zealots in my religion, but I think the tide has swung way to far to one side, and that tide is starting to swing back the other way. If people want to say the pledge of allegiance or have a moment of silence before you start school, what’s the big deal?? Sorry to say but I think people like your friend are the religious intolerant ones. You will see come the elections this Nov ,when Obozzo and crew get kicked out of office, what I am talking about.
