Default Central Sussex County

My hubby and I are looking to move to central Sussex Co, Georgetown, Seaford, Ellendale, etc. My sis says that she has heard that there are some downtrodden and some "rather dangerous" areas that we shuld avoid. Can you tell me IF that's true and where that might be.

Our options are open as we want to own our own land. We may buy land and put in a BOCA modular or buy an exisiting house if the price and condition are right. We are not interested in 55+ communities as we MUST have our own pool and a huge garden so thtat I can can my harvest.

Hubby is a paramedic so we are not worried about employment. We have found alot of jobs for him on line. He doesn't mind a short (half hour) commute.

Any thoughts? thanks

From what I've seen in my measley month here, it seems if you get a bit off of route 13, things stabilize a good bit. I have heard lots of different opinions on the "good" and "not so good" areas, but that is really only for you to judge based on your own little family unit.

Another thing to keep in mind is beach traffic, both on and off, as I am coming to understand. Look on a Delaware map; if a route goes right to the beach area, I'd avoid that route. Same concept as above, simply the traveling beach-goers instead.

Good luck on your consideration!

Mary
