Is anyone here familiar with Woodland Beach? There are a couple pieces of real estate for sale, but they seem unusually low priced for being that close to the water. I have heard rumors that the town is haunted, can anyone confirm this?

I visited the area last Sunday, while I was there, three State Troopers were driving all through the town. Is this area known for crime?

I feel like something is just a little off about this area. I am not looking to live there full time, it will either be a investment, or a second home for an occasional get-away.

Don't let the word Beach fool you. That part of the Delaware Bay is not where you want to go swimming.

We natives have been saying for many, many years.....
"Some Day"...............
As Longnecker indicated, the water is not really swimable, although locals living there probably would dispute that. The new pier they built is quite nice, took a long time to construct and is a great place to fish. Land values have not gone up much. I remember a "dance hall/tavern" being there when I was a kid. Our parents would dance and we would swim and play in the water............memories of times gone by. In it's prime, Woodland Beach was lively, had a few rides, and a little boardwalk.

Woodland Beach is one of those places waiting for the right time to blossom again.
