I wanna move to Delaware just so i can have these.
Yes, that's the impostor, not the original that is extremely pricey, and not that it matters, but

When we natives see those we point and scream....."fake, fake".
The diamond is the dead giveaway.

So are you saying that if there is a diamond on the tag it is a fake?

The "diamond" graphic symbol didn't show up until 1929.

So it is still a black and white tag though whether there is a diamond or not.

If looking to buy a black tag from someone, either online or in person, is there any way to tell if the registration number on the tag can legally be transferred to the buyer? That is, that the person selling the black tag is not just trying to sell an old tag they found laying around somewhere in the garage? I think the numbers get put back into "the pool" by the DMV if the registrations are not kept up, or am I wrong on that? I guess I am asking, does ownership of the physical plate also mean ownership of the registration number? Thanks!

Despite moving to Florida 3 years ago from Delaware, I still own my Delaware black and white tag. The tag (and the numbers) will remain mine until I decide to sell it. It does not go back into a pool at the DMV. Hope that helps.
