Just a reminder for those living in Indian River School District.Tuesday Jan 29 is Referendum day. They are asking for money for classooms at 6 schools. You know the taxes are cheap. If you don't have any kids in school think of it as protecting your property value by keeping it in an excellent school district. Check the link for volting places.10am to 8pm.

One other thought about supporting school activities, budgets and referenda if you don't have kids. The kids in school today are going to be our doctors, nurses, lawyers, accountants, engineers, etc of our future. We need them to be well-educated, fully trained and good at what they do. A sound and well-supported education system is really quite important for them, and for us.

I hope you do as well as we did. Passed yesterday by a good margin. The District has quite a phone system for letting people know what is going on. We recieved a message shortly after 9pm that it had passed by a good margin.

Just to add to Charley and the other posters points. I currently pay over $6000 for my school taxes, I suspect there are more than a few NY and NJ retirees living in you area who also paid a like amount. A few more dollars to ensure a good quality education for the kids whose future this world is, is a wise investment and one that is money well spent. IMHO, that is.

This type of funding is much better than the Federal RTT funding that went to poorer school districts alot of them in and around Wilmington and the only thing that changed is those school districts have more administrators and secretaries.
