It's been cold and nasty here in Philly, but just saw a news report showing you guys got slammed with rain. I hope all are doing well, staying safe, warm, and dry!!! Dee

I don't think the rain was THAT bad.Wind was another story though. Power just came back on. On and off this afternoon and went out about 4:30 came back about 9:15. WE have lights and a propane heater for emergency. Bad part is I missed Survivor on TV. I'll watch it on line tomorrow.

I'm in Kent County, and worked in most of the day. By 4:30 p.m. the rain and winds had slowed down quite a bit. Flooding downstate, I hear, in the usual places....along the low lying areas. They closed down Bay Bridge, I heard, for awhile.

The bridge over Indian River Inlet is again closed. TV is again showing flooded areas. There are areas that flood regularly and some on higher ground which generally stay dry.(Knock on wood). This brings up a good point here Dee. When looking for your new home try to find someone who is familiar with that area. Reread the word THAT. I live on a higher spot here on Long Neck and in 20 years have never had water uncomfortably near my home. I have had friends within walking distance who had and homes flooded.

I'm working in Bowers Beach today, so we'll see how that goes. Looks like some great spring weather coming up the next few days!

Hey Longnecker! Hey rdlr! Happy to hear you both faired well...the big "storm" they predicted was a bust! Rdlr...what are considered "low lying areas"? Longnecker, you bring up a good point...one of the places we looked at had obvious water damage in the garage, although the realtor said she didn't think flooding was an issue in that area. The place I really liked was in Oak Crest Farms. I did talk to some people, but that was the first property we saw and it didn't even cross my mind to ask about flooding. We'll be back again soon and that question is definitely added to my list.

I hope you both have an awesome day!

Dee

No issues here...we never flood at my house, thank goodness. We never lost power either, and we rarely do. Lots of heavy wind and rain though!
