I'm a single, professional woman looking to relocate from Long Island, NY to Wilmington, DE in the next couple of months. I'd like to find an apartment in an urban area where I can walk to shops, parks, etc.

Looking for some insight to neighborhoods for shopping, parking, safety, etc.

Thanks, Lisa

Lisa - You will not find what most people consider to be a truly urban area in Wilmington. The downtown area is pretty vacant in the evening and on weekends. Just west of downtown, however, is a very nice neighborhood with some restaurants, shopping and other amenities called Trolley Square: Trolley Square, New Castle County - Delaware Today - March 2013 - Delaware. My advice is to concentrate your search there.

Best of luck!
