[b][color="DarkRed"]Thanks for the compliment Lacey

I had something similar and did a good bit of research before we moved. It sure helps.

[b][color="darkred"]YOu are correct about NJ. We didnt' even look there. I found out what the cost of living and taxes were then immediatly dismissed NJ/ Can't imagine how anyone on a fixed income can survive these days with the rising cost of gas and everything else.

I'm an east coast gal. We were looking into Arizona 2 years ago as a possiblity but it is just too far for us.

Take care

Hello Carole,
Here's a site which might explain.
Saint Joseph, the Patron of Carpentry, Selling Houses, and Real Estate
As a Catholic, I'd like to emphasize that this is not a superstition, and prayer is the most important aspect of this.

A beautiful Palm Sunday to you all! I went to 5:30 Mass and, of course, there was standing room, only.

Thanks for the site link to St. Joe. I sent the page to my friend that has had her house up for sale here in Md for a year. Maybe St. Joe will help her sell it.

When we are in Delaware we go to Holy Cross or St. John's in Milford. I like the 7:30am Mass at Holy Cross. All set now with my palms and now getting ready for Easter Sunday.

Carole

You're Welcome! Us, too, Carole! We are (usually) 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning people at Holy Cross. Not to give my age away, or anything but my husband and I were married at Holy Cross in 1959! .....49 years this November, and our 50th anniversary event will be held at Pizzadilli's Winery & Vinyards 10/09. We've firmed up many details already. I am a very busy small business owner, and my husband is, happily, still in the workforce. We know of no other way of life but still have plenty of time to "play". Life is Good!

Hum.........Didn't know St Johns was so close. I just thought Holy cross was the only one around for a hundred miles. you did better than me Carole.
Not an eary riser. Ugh!! it is 9Am and I'm still drinking my coffee hoping to get the other eye open.
We usually go to the 5PM on Sat or the 11 on Sunday.
Haven't been to St johns but I do know I like Holy Cross. My husband is not Catholic and never went to church with me until we moved. Now he goes all the time with me an enjoys it. especially the childrens mass first sat of the month. The guitar music and singing is great.

Carole - Have you tried Saint Bernadette's in Harrington? Or Immaculate Conception in Marydel? They are both within the Wilmington Diocese, like Holy Cross and Saint John's, and they are both within 10 miles of Dover. Immaculate Conception is absolutely beautiful, old fashioned and small. Saint Bernadette shares the same priests with Milford, and that is a beautiful stone Church. Our son was married in Saint John's and daughter in Immaculate Conception. I've visited many Churches/Seminaries over the years, as our son was accepted to the priesthood, and he took me everywhere. Mount Saint Mary's Seminary (in Maryland) is most beautiful, and their walking trails, landscaping, and chapels are out of this world. Saint Mary's in Baltimore, is quite a bit plainer, and is in a busy area. And, that Natioinal Shrine in D.C. is something to see!

Holy Cross is closer than St. John's. There is also St. Bernadette's in Harrington which is a little farther....haven't been to St. B's. We were checking out the churches in the area for when we move permanently. We will probably stick with Holy Cross; it's the closest and then breakfast at the Magnolia Diner.

Delly - where is that winery? The only winery I know of in Delaware is Nassau Vineyards.
