Where is Haas Meat Market? Also, is their a good supermarket around someplace that has a nice fresh seafood department?

Haas is a country meat market on Hazlettville Road. Do you know where Kraft Foods is, and all of that industrial development on Hazlettville Road, as you're coming out of Dover? North Street turns into Hazlettville Road. Anyway, keep going like you're heading towards Wild Quail. Haas is at the corner of Artis Drive and Hazlettville Road, just after the Village of Cannon Mill. I don't know of any supermarket that has a really good seafood department. But, here's a specialty seafood store: Go down to Harrington, on the east side of U.S. Route 13, after you pass the intersection of Route 14 (south of Harrington, before Harrington Slots. It's called Ocean Fresh. That's the only place I go, now. Pittman's is closed, and Bailey's Seafood is closed.
I agree.....Meddings was good many years ago. Have you been to the Boon Docks? We go there every year for our family reunion and reserve a couple of long tables. It's an old hunting lodge near Bombay Hook, east of Smyrna. Great crabs! and Great Swamp Water in a mason jar with a cat tail sticking out! Or, Sambo's in Leipsic for great crabs!

Years ago when I lived in Middletown I went to the Boondocks and Sambo's. I do remember the Swamp Water in Mason Jars and the great steamed crabs at Sambo's. Those are two stops that I want to take my hubby to in the future.
I looked up Haas and found that it was awarded Best of Delaware in 2006. Now I'll look up Ocean Fresh; I just love google and mapquest.

Yep, CaroleM! There's a whole world of exploration to do out there!
I had the opportunity to tour a slaughter house and butcher shop a few years ago, and saw the procedure - start to finish. Then, I kind of lost my taste for meat .......On the other hand, it's not to pleasant to see live crabs dumped in boiling water, is it??
Also, you may like JP's on the Wharf, in North Bowers Beach. We love it there, too. There are live bands all summer long, outside on the deck, great seafood, and other selections on the menu, also. Take insect repellent, though. When the wind blows the right way, there are biting, little gnats. We used to buy fresh fish from Frenchie's Dock down there, but I think he's closed now. Frenchie's the Mayor, ya' know!

Since this an off topic thread, I thought I'd take an opportunity to warn anyone on the forum that I was a victim of identity theft over the holidays - $811.11. Some low life apparently captured my debit card number from somewhere and used it online (four separate purchases) to have a nice Christmas. Hope he/she spends the New Year in jail. So, if any of you use a debit card to make online purchases or swipe it at retailers, be careful. First time it's ever happened to me, but I've learned a lesson. My bank says I will get my money back, but we'll see.

I took the liberty of sending this in a direct message to PeeWee. His email will alert him that he has a direct message from us and maybe he'll pop in and respond.

elizaMary............I had some friends down last Thursday and one of them is looking for a place around Magnolia or Harrington. She has her house up for sale in Md. We drove through Southern Meadows and she liked it. Went in the model and she got the brochures. Nice place and affordable. She is very impressed. We didn't get to see the pool or look around too much because we had food in the car that needed to be refrigerated.

Oh great, glad she liked it. They are nice and very affordable. That is why we chose t his place. Only had so much to work and we wanted it all.
2 car garage, pool, gym, clubhouse, they cut your grass and most of all the best neighbors anyone could ask for. A lot of us here agree this place gives you more house for your money.
Of course, they went up in price since we bought in Aug of 2006. but they are still reasonable.
Next time let me know. I would love to meet you.
