Hi ya'll!
Glad to see I was missed! To the locals, I'm sure I'll see you around the area soon... or at least once we get moved and school starts back. To the out of towners, perhaps I/we will have the new place presentable enough by the end of September (I caught that, Joyce) or so for a backyard BBQ. So do stay in touch!
Charley, Laurel, Sanddollar, and the rest.... maybe we can coordinate a date with Ron and Joyce to have a BIG get together once and for all! We'll have 3 cleared acres, and the driveway seems endless... I'd better put bug zappers on the list of new things to buy at Lowes!
Glad everyone had a good time, despite the absence of all MY natural wit and charm! As I posted under another thread, Friday was wild here, and Saturday, we spent part of the day at the pool/water park at Killen's Pond. Great place, but that nice weather I ordered for Charley bit me in the back a bit (thought my skin was tougher than THAT!)... OUCH! Just a bit burnt!
Take care, folks!
Mary

Cool! I love company! Once we've survived the closing, I'll start a new topic for planning, discussing, etc.

Great. Now all I have to do is save up some energy. I returned from the most recent trip on Sunday evening and I'm still tired! I don't know if it's still a result of the surgery, or maybe the heat/humidity, or maybe I'm just getting older faster.

Could be a combination of both... surgery after effects, AND heat/humidity. We've had the same problem with lethargy around our house... I for one like the afternoon siesta!
And the dog days of summer aren't even here yet!

You're probably right. It just seems like it's been such a long time since the surgery that the after-effects would be done already ... not that I'm the most patient patient in town.

You're not a patient patient, because you're not the right gender! Bet Marlene has had enough of your convalescence! LOL

Well, she's actually the calm voice of reason who keeps saying, "it's OK, you know it should take 6-8 weeks, you'll be OK". I'm the one who has definitely had enough.

Everything changes, nothing ever stays the same. The solution is for everyone to get along and make it a great place to live. Like the welcome porch party, what a great idea! I'm originally from Kent Island in MD. Just a little town long ago. Thirty years ago we lived on a dirt road, only house on the road and had to walk a half mile to catch the bus. We had an Acme, a Pizza Hut, a Hardees, one gas station and one liquor store on Kent Island back then. We had to drive across the Bay Bridge just to rent a movie! My Pop Pop would tell stories about how he would ride the ferry across the bay to go to work, there was no bay bridge. Have you been to that area lately? What a crazy mess! Although it's not the same, it's still home to me. I didn't choose to move to DE, I married a military guy But I do love it here and I love the people. We also plan to retire here because we like it so much! I'm also a Realtor in the area, I know when I get buyers from out of the state they are either military or from NY, NJ or PA, sometimes MD. I like them all the same and love hearing their stories. I'm a people person, no matter where you come from BTW, my parents are moving into DE next weekend and my brother next month. I hope they love it here as much as I do.
