Hi everyone. Need some help finding reasonably priced ground transportation from Lewes to either Dulles or Reagan airports. We were very surprised to find out that not even Super Shuttle type shared van services are available in Sussex County. We're fairly new residents and still finding our way so any help would be greatly appreciated. Could be limo/van/whatever. Thanks!

There are private limo companies, just Google. We go to D.C. often, drive to Carrollton Metro Center, and take the Metro in to center city. The metroliner has stops at the airports, I understand, but maybe not from Carrolton.

Here's a link that might help some.

Likewise, I was surprised about no shuttle or bus service in Sussex county to airports. Or to trains. You would think some enterprising person would have gotten something started. I found a limo (actually a mini-van) through the local taxi company, they happened to know someone, who runs from Sussex Co. to Philadelphia International Airport. Picks you up at home. The company is run from Dover. It is just a little over 2 hours to the airport and much easier to get to than DC or Baltimore. Straight up Rt. 1 then around Wilmington and you are there. The availability of flights is pretty good from Philly, in my experience.

Driving to New Carrollton metro station is a good option for a day trip. Takes about 45 minutes or so from there to get to National Airport. Metro used to make you use a key card to park at their stations so you would need one of those. Please check this out, though, because I have been gone from DC for a few years and I read they might be changing that to allow for credit card or fare card payments upon exit. I don't know if they allow long term parking, although I don't know how they would know that a car was there longer than a day. There are shuttles from the West Falls Church metro station to Dulles airport. Takes about an hour on the Metro from New Carrollton to get to West Falls Church.
