Concentrating our home search/job search efforts now in the Wilmington area of DE, we are looking to relo from CT, we have already sold our home and ready to buy in DE. Nice houses in SMyrna area we can definitely afford, however have to be realistic about commute times. Thoughts?

Summer Friday evenings you would definitely run into some south bound traffic.Other than that 95 into DE1 no traffic lights until at least Odessa. depending on where you are getting going and getting off DE 1. They are working on the major intersection going from 95 to DE 1.Hopefully at some point that will be cleared up. I have had similar commutes before with no problems. How much commute time is acceptable to you?

Did you know Delaware is only 96 miles long? From Kent County, Smyrna, less than half of those miles. I travel SR 1 north, almost every day from Dover. It's a breeze. Check with the Smyrna and Clayton Police Departments for safer areas, although crime is everywhere these days.
