Hello all. I am new to the area and would like to learn about the recommended summer programs that I could consider for my 7- and 8-year-old children. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

DelTech will be offering some interesting programs. The school district.website is www.IRSD.net. The school district has a year around indoor pool at Ennis School (Georgetown) which is open to the public some hours. There are swim leagues for kids of all ages swimming there. They offer swimming lesson a few times a year. Millsboro has a very active Little League.
What area of Millsboro? It is a hugh zip code.

Yes, and so I hear. How is the Boys & Girls Club there in Long Neck? How does it compare to the one in Rehoboth?

The roads can get a little confusing down here. Coming south on RT 5 it is joined by RT 23. At the intersection with RT 24 RT 5 turns right and runs with RT 24. RT 23 goes straight into Long Neck. RTs 5 and 24 continue west together for a couple of miles and the RT 5 turns Left into the Oak Orchard area. That is where the Boys and Girls Club is. (Oak Orchard) On the right after the turn. My son never had any interest in it and I do not personally know anyone who has used it. Never heard anything bad about it.I know the is a Boys and Girls Club in Seaford. There is a YMCA in Rehoboth. I am not aware of a Boys and Girls Club there.

For those in New Castle County, the Votech High Schools offer summer programs for middle school students with bus transportation. Middle school can be a tough age in the summer....too "old" for day care and too young to be left alone all day.
