Its not that bad. Its a little ghetto, more on some streets than others. Just gotta find the right area in the neighborhood i guess. There are a lot of families in sparrow run, ive been there close to a year and my gf has lived there for 4, we have never had any problems with anyone, hell i even had neighbors invite me over for cards or cookouts when i first moved in. Ive played with neighbors dogs, its a normal community, unfortunately poverty stricken, and that naturally brings more crime than usual. Lets be real though, ive lived in Delaware pretty much my entire life, i can point out some nice little suburban neighborhoods where they find dead babies in the park and junkies are ramped. They just dont put thise neighborhoods on the news because they dont want to give them a bad name.......just like anywhere else if you stay away from the riff raff, itll stay away from you......dont get me wrong, i wouldnt walk through the dark ass park in the middle of the night without protection, but i would have no reason to either.....during the day they're always having comminity events, maybe you could check out a few of those before you move in and meet some of the people? Good luck

Do not live there. I used to live in wellington woods next to it. Gun shots at night, people stole my dirt bike.

I live in Sparrow Run. I have lived here since 2013. I live on the main street and have had no issues since I have been here. Because of the past reputation, there is a police presence. Nothing crazy and they are very nice people who interact with the neighbors and the children. Unfortunately, wherever you go, you can find some type of issue. Sparrow Run is no different. There are a lot of children in the area and most of the people go to work everyday and the neighborhood is racially diverse. I like it here and have great neighbors. Because Brookmont had such a horrible reputation, many people on the outside are not willing to move past that to see the changes that have been made here. Consider the opinions of those who do not live here but definitely trust those of us who live in the neighborhood. The local elementary school is amazing and those who were issues in the neighborhood are mostly gone from being put out or moved to Wilmington.
