Due to a job transfer we are required to move from Bucks County in PA to Newark, DE. We are not familiar with the area and we are looking for a new home relatively close to work (30 - 40 min max) and convenient to downtown Philadelphia. We are considering newer homes (less than 10 years) in PA and DE from $350K to $450K. We ran into a community in the Brandywine area called Ballymeade. Can someone give us some feedback regarding the community and the area (safety, reputation, resale values, schools, etc) or suggest other good areas. Thank you for your help

Ballymeade is fine, though I don;t like the houses myself, too verticle.
There are several other townhouse communities in that immediate area. Values are fairly stable - given the market t/o the US. Safe area - yes; schools OK too. However, a good 25 minute commute to Newark, on other hand, about 35 minutes on average day to downtown Phila. Your priorities?? |

Greetings,
Ballymeade is a good community but there are a few nice communites around that area. You can look in the Brandywine and Claymont area which would give you a 30 min commute to PA. With your price range you will find something you like. |
