As for the Melting Pot... went to one back in NC; definitely a special treat of the fondue variety. And Chase is right... plan on going AFTER you got lucky at Dover Downs; easily $100 night out. Also, do not expect to run in, eat, and run out. It is an experience, not just a meal.

Thanks for the heads up, MaryCh! $$$ I'll have to think about that! May have to eat at the Little League Park! BTW, thanks for the company! And, yes, still working (off and on)

Hey movn2del,
Lunch at the Georgia House last week was awesome! Most everyone had the soup and sandwich "special", which was plenty for me! I'm not a big fan of any seafood soups, so I had the potato soup with the 1/2 sandwich. Yummy! Man, I just ate a homemade cheese enchilada... now I want to go back to Georgia House.
And yep, they do a BIG lunch business; quite the reputation I gather. We usually show up early (about 11:30) so as to secure the best table(s). It was a good thing; the place filled up shortly after noon. Granted, it WAS Friday, and beautiful... but LASH (who works nearby) said that is a regular occurrence.
Delly, I know what you mean about $$$. We got lucky at the Melting Pot location in Greensboro NC... I wrote the insurance on the business, so I was able to expense it as part of securing the sale! Plus, got a great discount off the menu... think they were trying to get ME to cut THEM a break???
Now, alas, no job, so no perks here in DE. Guess I'll have to get back to work! Otherwise, my best "eats" will be whatever comes off my own stove.

Bob Evans, LOVE - Stuffed blueberry pancakes - The bomb!
Ruby Tuesday - Salad Bar- YUM! Ask for Jonai, he's a riot.
Applebee's - Sucks - VERY VERY SLOW SERVICE
Friendly's - Hamburgers- Awesome!! Although they handle food then money.
Middletown Diner - Awesome Breakfast!!
Nino's - Pizza- Yumo!

Hi Laural,
Thanks for the update, and the posts about good food in the Middletown area. My opthalmologist is in Middletown; a nice little drive from where we live, but well worth the travel (can you tell this is ONE doctor I'm happy with?). The down side is, no matter the appointment time, I DO want food (either breakfast or lunch) while I'm in the area.
Ummmm, stuffed blueberry pancakes, huh? I haven't eaten at Bob Evans here in DE, but we have been very happy with other Bob Evans' we've been to in our travels. Will have to plan on those, as soon as I get the next appt scheduled!
Thanks again!

Interesting that I just posted here... WBOC just had a blurb on "Restaurant Week"! From what I caught in the broadcast, restaurants are giving big discounts and running menu specials, in order to drum up new business!
What better time to check out a new restaurant, and then post your opinions here on the forum?????

Restaurant discounts in Dover
Mary said: <<From what I caught in the broadcast, restaurants are giving big discounts and running menu specials, in order to drum up new business! >>
********
How are folks finding out about the discounts? Advertising and printing in the newspaper, printing coupons in freebie mailers, or what? We'll be in Dover next week, and might try out something new.
BTW, how do you guys put quotes in those nice little boxes when you do a "reply to post?" I'm using Firefox as my browser. Is it a Microsoft I. E. thing?

Try restaurants.com
and put in the zip code - havent used them yet but heard very good things
Most of the time I post Quick Reply, it just seems faster IMO. I find it very distracting when someone is posting a few sentences and uses 10 icons . Anyway, to answer your question, just hit Reply (not Quick Reply) and it'll bring up the box w/ the icons, if you look at the top 'Title', it's blank and it's up to you if you want to fill in a title and/or icon. At least that's my take on it, I haven't played around w/ it too much - yet - most of the time I'm in a reading mode.
Hope this helps a bit and you have a good trip.

Hey, there, Honeycrisp (hmmm that sounds like the name of a very good apple ) Thanks for the tip on the box. I think I figured it out.
Re Restaurant.com, I can usually get really good deals there, but don't see anything around Dover just now. The only one within 20 miles is the People's Restaurant in Harrington, and somebody told me that they weren't very good. They mention Cloud 9 at Rehobeth Beach, but that's too far away for this trip. So, still lookin'......

You figured it out!
LOL! I like those apples too, in fact had just 'discovered' them when I joined the site - so now you know 'the rest of the story' (speaking of, haven't had a honeycrisp since, LOL!)
Good luck w/ the restaurant search, am totally clueless
