Hello!
We are moving to Delaware in August, and are considering buying a home. We have never been to Delaware but plan to visit soon to get a look around.

I'm in search of opinions on the best places to live around Dover AFB, within 30 miles. We like to live out in the country, away from people and lots of traffic and neighbors, and in a place where we can go out back and target shoot or something (we're from NC originally!) All of our recent duty stations have been near larger cities so we're really looking forward to the possibility of seclusion! Safety is a major issue, we want to live somewhere that crime is very low.

There is also the question of housing markets, and cost of living. We want to be in a place where we can sell the house at a decent price if we needed to, but our goal is to rent the house when we get moved somewhere else. We don't have any kids yet but plan to soon, so schools are not a huge issue but for reselling and rental purposes we would prefer to be in a good area for schools/daycares.

Any advice anyone can give is truly appreciated! And if you've purchased a home while active duty military I'd love to hear about your experience! Also if you've worked with the best realtor ever (or are the best realtor ever!) and want to get them some business please share their info!

Thank you!

There are many areas in Kent and nearby Sussex Counties that would fill you bill. I would do a lot of thinking and research before renting the home out when you move away.
