Delaware is really not a popular state. It is small and only a small percentage of people really know De.......In my humble opinion.
I live just over the border in PA all my life and thought De had nothing. Never visited until we considered moving here due to lower taxes and retiring.
Now I love it and find this state to be very friendly.

Hi Everyone,
I have been trying to keep up with the posts but have failed to reply due to planning our move to DE.
It's finally about to happen! Only a month left down here and we will be relaxing on the beach.
My hubby and I were thinking about moving to Lewes, but chose Bethany Beach instead. We have taken a few weekend trips and really fell in love with the area. We still cannot get over how nice people are. So refreshing!
Thank You to everyone that offered their comments and information on Lewes and the surrounding area.

Sounds like you got a winner, CaroleM. I can certainly understand why they are right up at the top......friendly, friendly people! We absolutely LOVE Tennessee, and haven't skipped many years in making that trip. It takes us 16+ hours driving time, but it's well worth it......then we continue on to Memphis. Congratulations to your husband's home state!

Hey CaroleM, TN is a beautiful state... gotta love the Smokey Mountains! Our family has not had the good fortune to spend much time in TN, despite living "right next door" in NC for 15 years. Seemed to always be passing through on road trips elsewhere.
Our oldest child has spent more time in various places in TN courtesy of Carolina Crown Drum & Bugle Corps. What part of TN is your hubby from? We may try to get to Murfreesboro (sp?) this summer; mainly for a competition for the drum corps. Any tips on where else to go when we are there?

Hey Tabitha/beachanyone,
Where are you and yours moving to here in DE? I've been out of touch on C-D lately; I think I've missed your posts about that. Yoohoo! and Kudos! on yet again, soon to be new residents! Pretty soon, I won't feel like such a newbie myself!

Tennessee
Hubby is from western TN, a little town called Milan. Last year when we visited his family the redbuds were in bloom all along the highway. Beautiful sight. The Parthenon in Nashville is an interesting museum to tour. This is silly but I really liked Dollywood and Pigeon Forge..... had a lot of fun there.
Delly - coming home we made the entire trip in one day. Whew!...very tired but we were anxious to pick up our dogs.
