Take a look at homes in Shawnee Acres we are one of the first residental developments in Milford. The minimum lot size is 1/2 acre, and many are larger I have 1 1/2 acres. We are NOT annexed with the city of Milford so property taxes are 1/2 the cost as a comparable home/property that is annexed. Our homeowner association fees are $40.00 annually.

I am in Milford and just starting to look into Christian schools for my son. He will be 4 in July and starting preschool. My daughter has autism so she goes to the Consortium (its public) in Lewes.

From talking to people at our church (Milford Church of God) for preschool I've learned there is Avenue Preschool at the Methodist church in town.

I know the First baptist church as a school I am not sure if its pre K-12 or just Pre-K through 8.

There is the Eagles nest academy in Milton which is pre k-8th.

Oh and there is Greenwood Mennonite school in Greenwood and I believe thats K-8th

I have talked to parents of all 3 schools at church and have heard good things. I am sure there are more around but I still searching.

Best of luck!

There is also Christian Tabernacle Academy on Johnson Road in Lincoln City. It has K-12. This would be about 2-3 minutes from Hearthstone Manor. May want to check this out, it's a very active online community bulletin board for Milford: www.newszapforums.com/forum42. As I recall, everyone pretty much hates Hearthstone and there have been dozens of problems. May want to ask around.

The City of Milford just authorized spending $20,000 to have an outside company come in and look at all the violations that Hearthstone Manor has and how much what they have built differs from what was approved. Looks like you may want to avoid that particular development.

Well I live there and LOVE it. The Homes, Villa's and Condos are lovely. It's a basically 55 and over community of friendly people, clubhouse activities, and a beautiful pool. We have lived there for several years and have no complaints. Was the best move we made. Love the carefree lifestyle which allows us to pick up and go at anytime with no worry. Grounds are beautifully kept and neighbors who watch out for each other when away with plants, mail ect. Too bad the people who bad mouth this community never have the chance to live here and enjoy it.
