NYJoe, you can always invoke the perfect Delaware cure for the humidity blues...just come down to the beach!

We've literally gone to the Cape Henlopen State Park beach almost every day since we've permanently moved here a month ago, and it has been absolutely gorgeous. Always enough breeze to cool you off under the umbrella. And since the water temp has risen recently above 70 degrees my wife reports going into the water works too, though it still feels cool on my ankles (which is how far I venture in)!

Although a strawberry-poppy seed salad indoors sounds downright refreshing also! Do you follow that up with some ice cream or perhaps a root beer float in the evening?

Why choose? Have both!

Oooo...........I agree, where is this? Or does someone have the recipe? Love those! Trying to convince my DH to take me up to the Smyrna farmer's market some Sunday. Can't wait until I can drive again.

I agree Joe, it has been rather humid, but I'm not complaining as I moved from South Carolina (well western PA via SC) which by this time would have you melting like the wicked witch of the West. At least this is a bit more tolerable.

Food is always an acceptable reason to hijack!

A BIG thank you coming from me and I am sure I can speak for rdlr, too.

Nuts had a good suggestion....maybe a little gathering of the "Lovin My New Delaware Life" is in the future. We'll forget the "But" since I explained that, and very adequately, I might add.

Great idea, Nuts and rdlr; I can come up with lots of things "before the but"!

Speaking of "the butt", the only negative I can come up with so far is... Lovin my new Delaware life, but damn those local restaurants and homemade ice cream shops!

With all the additional outdoor exercise (especially riding bikes, walking the beach, and running around in the community pool), and eating healthier via produce from the farmers' markets and fresh seafood, the plan was to LOSE weight this summer. Four weeks in I am 5 pounds heavier and my DW informs me that it is not from additional muscle mass.

Becoming very afraid of what the off-season may hold.

Not to worry. You are no doubt drinking more (what does not matter) and therefore it is all water weight.

I think maybe we should plan a gathering in the early fall, Maybe after the summer crowds are gone and before SeaWitch.

That's true! Thanks Nuts, I forgot about the additional liquid intake, I am sure you are right about the "temporary" additional water weight.

As for the idea of having a get together, count me in (assuming of course food and drink will be involved).

Cough - Cough....

Well, ah....er....We don't have Summer Crowds or Sea Witch here. We do have lots of Festivals, Nascar Racing, and Concerts Delaware Junction (country music festival) gets over on August 18th. NYJoe can walk there.

I meant that we would come north to you but we want the crowds to die down here before we venture north. So true we will need to coordinate all things up in your neck of the woods.
