Default Moving in to Wilmington from Richmond,VA

Hello all,

We have had to move out of our new SF home in Richmond due to job reloc and are looking for a rental townhome/sf in delaware..witha 15-20 min commute to downtown wilmington.

We have a 2.5 yr daughter who will need a part time daycare/preschool of some kind.

We are hoping for 3+ br,2 ba in a rental neighborhood ,preferably newish(5yrs old?) or well maintained.

We have been told ab st andrews in bear..

Any reviews of townhome rentals or areas that we can check for renting single family homes. Our budget is 1300-1650$

Also,we are expecing our second baby in July.Any advice/referals for hospitals for delivery are also appeciated

At one point in my many moves I lived in Richmond and am now in New Castle DE. I've only been here 2 1/2 years and we're moving again to Orlando. I'm not sure about rentals, but I have had 2 kids here and I can't tell you enough about All About Women for your OB/Gyn care. They are AMAZING!!! Dr. McBride delivered my first but she has moved on. Dr. McCullough delivered my second. I was 20 weeks pg and needed to have my appendix removed. She was with me every step of the way. Came to see me in the hosp on her day off too.

If I could move her with me I would. I ran into her one day at BJ's and she took time to talk to me about some things. I would also recommend Dr. Goshow-Harris in the practice.

They deliver at Christiana Hosp in Newark. That is a very nice place. They are very understanding and took good care of me both times I delivered, when I had my gall bladder removed and during the appendix thing.

Best of luck to you

You definately don't want to live in certain parts of Wilmington, but there are certain parts that are REALLY nice. Trolley Square is very nice, and that is in Wilmington. My friend lives in a subdivision in Wilmington and it's nice over there. North Wilmington is very nice too. It all depends on where you go. You also have the area of Wilmington that has nothing but masions, so again it all depends on where you move to!

I live in New Castle myself and just like Wilmington there are certain parts that are bad there too.

Look into Elsmere, Little Italy, Newport, Trolly Square, North Wilmington, the Riverfront, Woodlawn, anywhere between 9th st. Up to 15th st. Look I know the city of Wilmington really well those are the best and Close places to downtown if you have any questions let me know.

Wilmington is great such as nieghborhoods near the Richardson Park Elementry School or Near Stanton Middle School

Yes, Wilmington has a high crime rate but only in the city and in Elsmere and Belvedere
It is pretty safe i have lived here almost 4 years and the only thing i have had happen is some "thugs" steal my parents cars stereo and break a car window but thats about it.
