RolliePollie is on a distinguished road
Default Wanting to move to the Eastern Shore

Suggestions? Someplace where I can rent for an affordable/modest price. And is within a 30 min drive to the beach. Rural or urban, doesn't matter. We are a young family in our mid-20s with a toddler, if that is something to think about. Thanks.

Are you looking for seasonal, or not? Makes a big difference in the advise you will receive. A great majority of folks posting here (currently) are looking to move to DE, so I don't think any of the regulars would want to pass on the wrong information.

Mary

RolliePollie, how are you defining "Eastern Shore?" Around here, it usually refers to Maryland, east of the Chesapeake Bay. Are you including Delaware?

Rollie.....what do you call "reasonable"? Rentals available are priced all over the board, depending upon location and size of a single family detached house, manufactured home, townhouse, twin type, or apartment. I'm in Kent County, and about 30 minutes to the beach. Part of my business involves analyzing rentals, and they range between $450/month (for not much of an apartment) to $3,500 month for a home near the water. Most in my area for a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, single family detached house rent for about $1,000/month. Manufactured homes rent for less.

I think I am not too sharp today. If Rollie posted this on the Delaware forum, I guess he does intend to include DE in Eastern Shore!

Delly, my husband and I have often thought of renting a house at the beach during the off-season. We assume that most of them would not be available for, say, November or March. If one of the houses you've described at $1000 a month is available off-season that you know of, what would likely be the rent?

Annie, I was speaking of Kent County, Although, there are many near the beach area. Some rent by the week/month or other. There are plenty of tons of townhouses for rent. Actually, November through March are good times to rent, with many to select from. I'll check on that.

Annie......Paynter's Mill/Milton has some renting for $1,300/month, very nice, but farther from the beach. Lewes has a couple $1,000/month 3 bedroom 2 baths, on the east side of Rte. 1, but about 2 miles from the beach. The Multi List has many listings, and there are many Realtor web sites. I'd Google 'rentals Rehoboth Beach' and see what you come up with.
