Sandcastle Contest moves to Sept. 10 - By Ryan Mavity - CapeGazette.com - Covering Delaware's Cape Region - Inland Bays, Atlantic Ocean, Rehoboth Beach, Lewes, Milton, Dewey Beach, USA


The date for the annual Sand Castle Contest for Rehoboth Beach/Dewey Beach is being changed from early August to Labor Day weekend. Seems they are trying to increase participation but some parents are not happy.

Interesting, can see both sides of the issue. Sounds like an effort to extend the tourist season past Labor Day weekend, which isn't a bad objective for a Chamber of Commerce. Certainly no lack of folks here in early August!
