Does anyone know if E.5th Street,near Compton, is a safe area to live temporarily in Wilmington,De? (Dover: rental)

I'm planning on moving to DE., for a great job opportunity in DOVER,DE., and have to occupy place, this spring 2017 no later than May(Memorial Day weekend or sooner.)

Are there any great areas(streets) that are nestled on quiet, residential,suburban street/area
in Wilmington? How is East side, like E.5th. I was also told that 10th and Bennett is a very nice safe area, because police area there all the time, and it's near the Grand Opera House,but that 5th street is better. Is this section safe to rent for a woman, with a child,teenage girl.



Also:
Someone on FB page said near or on E.5th and by Compton Park, but others saying, stay away from 5th and other streets over there, and avoid Read Street, and 10th,11th et.al.,and 22nd and Jessup and a few other places i am told to avoid renting. Anyone with any information specifically either in Dover or Wilmington with rent from 800.00 per month(1 or 3 br.) maximum 1600 to 1700.00 a month with a six month to 1 year lease only thank you.

I have a great credit score 806 or higher,so i plan to make this a very short rental while i am going to purchase in either NJ or back home in NC.

(I am moving from lovely suburb of North Carolina,near Wilson & Rocky Mount)also lived in a beautiful area in suburban NJ but not used to Delaware at all.)Just want the nicest street/area for me and my daughter,until i purchase a home.Thanks again.
