Long Neck store owner throws in towel | Cape Gazette

For years the only real crimes in the area had been property crimes mostly dealing with burglaries of seasonal homes.

Thank you for posting this..

I appreciate knowing.

I have read several posts regarding this type of crime on Rte. 24
but seeing the article really pressed into me the nightmare the citizens of Delaware face,
and who might be driving into them on the road..<<--- that's a different story, if you can find that article.

Yeah, I read about what happened to this restaurant...such a shame. Junkies ruin everything.
Look for more repeat crimes like this to come. As stated before, I grew up in Oak Orchard which is right down the road from Long Neck and that place isn't much better. According to my husband, many recently released inmates move to the Oak Orchard, Long Neck, and Angola area. They're committing some of the crimes, and let's face it--they don't keep the best company either.

Whoa, 14 guns stolen from a store. That's not going to be good.

Crime is not only "down there" but all over the State of Delaware. Rt. 13, North to South, is a major drug traffic route through Delaware's 96 mile long state. That route takes drug runners from New York, Philly and Wilmington south to Virginia, and other parts. It's no wonder that police running radar on that major route have so much success drug busting. Traffic stops for speeding result in more than just speeding tickets. Crime, from the big cities, has infiltrated Delaware, and it's not getting any better.

How do drug shipments just passing through from other areas cause street crime?

Simple question with a simple answer. You should ask the Delaware State Police that question, like I did.

2002 Subaru--mostly white heroin/pill junkies causing problems in Long Neck, throw in some crack cocaine and psychedelics here and there. Long Neck has always been primarily Caucasian. Yes, also ex-cons (mostly white) like to rent mobile homes there and stuff as many as they can in one.
There is at least one section eight housing complex as well--you can see it on route 24. Oh, and a there is a "Connections" which is a methadone clinic.

To summarize: Mostly trashy white people causing problems.....
