Home fell thru need Campground that takes pets
Well we had a home all lined it fell thru so now we are homeless, and need to find a campground in New Castle County, or border of Maryland, so I can go house hunting while hubby is working. We have a reservation at Lum's Pond, but we can only stay there 2 weeks. Need to line up another place, any suggestions?

FL is quite a ways from DE, there's gotta be other campgrounds in DE or maybe even a pet-friendly motel or short-term, month-to-month rental - hope it all works out for you quickly.

Campgrounds
There is Elk Neck State Park which is near Elkton, MD. It is about a hour hour or so past Lums Pond. That also probably has a 2 week limit. Killiens Pond is near Dover, DE. A little further south than what you are probably wanting but worth a shot if nothing else works.
I would talk to Lums Pond and explain to them your situation. Maybe you could stay a little longer.
Good luck! Sorry to hear about your troubles.

I know what it's like to be down and out. Sorry about your situation. There is a place called the Emmaus house in Newark. They find temporary places for displaced couples and families and maybe pets too. 34 Continental Ave
Newark, DE 19711 (302) 737-2241. They provided a boarding home for my children and I when we didn't have a place to live for a small cost. They may not take pets, but I'm sure they know someone who does. It may be better than camping out and moving from place to place.

Oops I didn't mean to imply we were homeless as in down and out, but I really appreciate the concern thank you for that, your very sweet. We actually have pockets full of cash. We have a very roomy 5th wheel, and need to find a campground that will allow pets, in New Castle County, or even Maryland Border while I continue to house hunt. The campgrounds we've looked into allow us to stay there 2 weeks at a time, so if we find another one we can alternate between the 2.

Ok you own a 5th wheel then you must be familiar with Woodalls or Trailer Life or even Good Sam.
Any of these have the listings of all campgrounds and what they offer.
Try them.
You may have to register to search but they are free to search on.
Good luck..........

We have, apparently there isn't much in Delaware, hoping someone knew of a private campground not listed.
