Default Commuting from Dover Area to Wilmington

I'm currently in NYC doing advertising and marketing, but will be moving to Milford, DE this summer to live closer to my parents...the grandparents miss their grandkids so much...

Anyway, I'm assuming if I stay in my field, I'll probably be commuting up to the Wilmington area and was wondering if there are any train lines or bus services that run from Milford or Dover up to Wilmington.

Also, if you have a website so that I can check the schedules and fares, that would be great too.

Thank you!

Hi, there is no train service in Kent or Sussex but there is bus service from/to most parts of the state. Here is the link:DART First State - Home Page

The drive will be brutal at best especially along I-95 North where Route 1 interchanges. The interstate becomes a 'parking lot' between 7 am - 8:30 am. I hope you are a patient person during commute times and have lots of gasoline money. We just moved from DE after 20 years. We loved DE but the congestion just became obnoxious. Best Wishes!

Default Alternate Dover->Wilmington in AM

- When you go up Route 1 towards the I95 interchange - get off at the Christiana Mall go through the parking lot around to where the old Strawbridge store used to be then get on the ramp for I95 and wait

or

Get off at Route 273 east - got to Old Airport Road (Route 37) and take a left when you start to go past the New Castle County Airport take a left right before the New CAstle County office building - go out to the Radisson Hotel which never opened - up to route 141 - go north on 141 to the Wilmington on ramp and then wait.

or

Don't even think of grinding it out on Route 13 from Route 1 unless you really enjoy commuting through the Lincoln Tunnel in New York.

I have a dream that some day the interchange at Route 1 and I 95 will be more than a parking lot.

Other solution - off time - if you can get through the intersection before 7:15 am or after 9:30 Am - you have a chance of adding hours to your quality of life.

About bus service: I don't like to discourage you, but I've heard that it's often unreliable, runs late, etc. Since I have no experience with this myself, nor does my husband, I'm hoping that someone will come along who actually does this commute by bus on a regular basis--not just now and then--and will be able to give you information that contradicts what I've heard.
