Wink humidity

WELL, I'm from PA (Lancaster area) ...but I haven't lived there since I was 1977. I have lived in the midwest since 1985. We went back to PA in August a couple of years ago AND I ALMOST DIED. But, you know, power of positive thinking...if I keep telling myself the humidity is ACTUALLY LOWER...

Hi Tootsie!
Try ---- "Google". Maybe that will work. Just plug in "restaurants-Delaware" and there should be a lot of information come up. Or, if it's American, Asian, Italian, Greek, or other specific types of food you like, plug those in the search engine. Hope this helps.

Sweetwater............thank you so much for posting the a positive post.
Can't just focus on the bad things.
If I was to ask the question, it would be what you love and hate about DE instead of just the bad.
Kudos to you sweetwater.

Sweetwater, so glad you mentioned Winterthur. To us, it's worth the drive north from Dover, in every season. And anyone who has lived in Delaware as long as we have will say that, even though Longwood Gardens is just a little farther along in PA, it is absolutely magnificent and you (everyone!) must visit.

I know a little about some of the "loved" things you posted, a little more about others, and approve.

Is it katreese who is from Madison WI? And mentioned humidity? Madison is one of the cities we're considering. It is so full of lakes, right within the city, that it must be impossible for it not to be humid. I don't like humidity, and have to admit that this is one thing I dislike about Delaware--and other states! I guess you have to decide which area has more of the things you're interested in, and that changes we have discovered, at different times in your lives.

Yep, I live in Madison. Madison does get humid, but it's not that, "wow, I have 40 lbs on my chest and can't breathe or move and must fall over now" humidity. Also, if it does become unpleasant, it's only for a day or so, versus weeks and weeks. It's further north than the Delaware Valley, which help a lot...of course, we get it on the other end with out 90" of snow this winter!! Anyway I know this is off the DE topic ; if you want more info about Madison let me know!

1. New York attitude without the benefits of actually living in New York.
2. Tailgating (drafting) on all roads.
3. Dumb liquor laws (and I don't drink).
4. Too many strip malls.
5. Politicians who do whatever the banking industry demands - like "bankruptcy reform".
6. Joe Biden
7. Ruth Ann Minner
8. Zoning laws? Try anarchy.
9. Brandywine Town Centre fiasco
10. Homogeneous buildings/homes.
11. Housing Market is still overpriced.
12. Jobs too dependent on large multinationals.
13. small business antagonistic

I'll stop there. It has it's pluses too, but you asked for negatives. As I've written elsewhere DE is not without charm and is a good place for certain people at a certain time in their lives.
