Hey Elizamary what kind of tomatoes did you plant? Hubby use to plant a garden every year we haven't done any vegetable gardens in 10 yrs and I miss it. Tomatoes were always a favorite all different kinds, we've planted corn, zucchini, bell peppers, and different lettuces. I think we planted other things to but I can't remember now.

Wow! Sounds like our little lunch group (started out with 4 of us, just back in Sept) is growing by leaps and bounds! And yes, hubbies are welcome; the ones I've met are just as much fun as the ladies. Charley and Ron are the odd men out, as they are the regulars posting here. Haven't had the good fortune to meet Charley's bride, but will soon, I suspect. And Joycie is a barrel of fun... what a great group this is!

Same here, Laural... usually attend the group meals sans hubby (he's out of town more than he's in). Gauging by lunches past, seems to work best in the beginning as "ladies only"... wouldn't you say, elizamary, from PA, and others that have been in the get-together's so far??
Can you and mom make lunch in Dover somewhere in a week or so? Posted elsewhere, but now its getting late and I'm too tired to remember under what topic. Mary |

Basil is a good companion plant with tomatoes; it improves their flavor and growth and also repels flies and mosquitoes. I also add some crushed egg shells around my tomatoes for the extra calcium. Calcium helps to prevent blossom end rot.

Hahaha, well ok then, but tomato's are easy to grow so a city girl like you should have no problems.
