Well, it's a very small town, and was originally a local fishing community. Route 9 runs through the town, and that's the main street. There are just a couple of side streets, but basically that's it. There's a fire house, a post office, deli, and there were 2 restaurants. One may have closed, but the other is the Village Inn, with limited hours. The road leading east from the town (next to the post office) is Port Mahon Road. If you travel about 2 miles on that, you'll be in the Little Creek Wildlife Area, which is on the Delaware Bay. A narrow road has been built and you can drive right to the water. Little Creek has been a town, basically in disrepair, but recently, there have been a couple of new homes built and some of the older ones are being renovated. Route 9, which runs through Leipsic and Little Creek and sometimes is very busy during the Delaware beach season and Nascar weekends. But otherwise, it's very quiet. There are still many born and raised locals there, and housing is moderately priced, if you can find anything. Little Creek is a step back in time.

If you are into birdwatching, it's heaven. Little Creek wildlife area and Bombay Hook national wildlife refuge (just up the road past Leipsic are wonderful places for spring migration. DH proposed to me at Bombay Hook, so we have a particularly warm feeling for the Little Creek/Leipsic area

Yes, do NOT speed through it. With a population of less than 100 people can you guess what the police enjoy doing?

I used to stop at the Village Inn when Mrs. Roe owned it, and I always ordered snapper soup (with sherry on the side). It was SO good. I understand the new owners are doing well there, but I don't know their hours. I'm not sure about that Cavalier's Place. Anybody know? It may be closed. Another thing of the past is that little bar almost hanging into the marsh, that burned down....was it the "Gull's Nest" ???

I remember years ago when they were re-paving RT.9 they were putting up a new bridge just north of Little Creek I beleive. They had a temporary one that some how floated went up and down w/ the tide. That thing swayed up/down, back/forth probably never happen this day and age for safety. My sister and I loved to cross over it mostly because my mom was scared to death of it. We'd beg my dad to turn around and do it again we would say "lets go over the rickety-crickety bridge, Please!" He would do it at least once every time to my moms horror.
