Default Evacution Routes

Hi. I was driving through Bear today and noticed a sign that says "Evacution Route" at the junction of route 72 and route 1. Does anyone know what kind of "evacution" is this route used for?

If you drive to Delaware City, and look out over the water, you'll see the nuclear plant. Actually, from Route 13, look east and you'll see it. I remember when they installed all those evacuation signs and sirens. They still test those sirens, and let the public know in advance, that it's a test. The signs and sirens are very prominent as far south as Smyrna.

We have them in New York as well because of our proximity to the Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant. They test the sirens every so often. With the population density in 10 mile area around the plant, no one really believes that any evacuations will be successful here. Just from my very limited observations, I don't think Delaware would have much of a problem with an evacuation - except maybe on the Nascar weekends.

Eliza....your "green" is showing!

May 30, 31 evenings.......Local Fun .......Touchdown Lounge, top of the Sheraton, Dover Downs Casino Buffet, Concerts in Dover Downs parking areas, meet the pit crews, and meet a driver or two. Jump the Wall contests throughout Dover (jump the wall, rip off the tire, and replace it in record time)
Race Day June 1, 2008 1:30 p.m. Gate 20 Section 250 Row 30 Seats 33 34
Sept. 21, 2008 ............. ditto .................................
8 a.m. Park car at Blue Hen Mall and shuttle takes us to the Monster Mile. Or, park across from Pizza Hut and walk to the stands. We alternate parking places each race. Locals abound, and out-of-state visitors are our friends! We've had the same seats for years, and each race is a reunion. In all our years this is the only place, we've ever met so many NY, NJ, PA, and New Englanders we just love! We're invited to their camp sites to join their pig roasts and barbecues. It's a common bond!
Can't wait, Can't wait, Can't wait!!!
Gotta go dig up my Sterling Marlin shirt, Jimmy Johnson hat, Jeff Gordon water bottle, Jeff Gorden seat cushion, and our radios that link to the drivers' radios! Now you've got me all excited!!!!

Eliza.....there are signs posted for the evacuation route!

Jimmy Johnson? Is he old? I remember a Jimmy Johnson when bill and I are courting. Good looking guy with dark hair and a romantic singer. I couldn't take my eyes off him.

I know it must be fun but too many people. Not into crowds. Been there done that!!
But
If it is June 1st, the pool will be opened and I will be in it. Hopefully. If it is not cold or rainy. With my luck, I maybe out of town

No, No, No.
Jimmie Johnson:
(born September 17, 1975, El Cajon, California) is a current NASCAR Sprint Cup race car driver who drives the #48 Lowe's Chevrolet Impala SS co-owned by Rick Hendrick and his teammate Jeff Gordon and operated by Hendrick Motorsports. Johnson is the two-time defending NASCAR Sprint Cup champion.

Oh, a NASCAR driver. Sorry, no nothing about this at all. I know a lot of people are crazy about this but I never got into it. I dated a fellow that was into racing cars at one time but I was never interested. Been "green" all my life delly.

The Jimmy Johnson I knew was a singer who sang at the Townhouse Tavern in Norhteast Phlly. Bill and I were dating and went there quite often to see him. Lets see? Back in 1966 or 1967.
