Gifted and Talented Program in Caesar Rodney vs. Capital (school districts, college)

Hello,

Someone I know is relocating to Delaware and had questions about school systems primarily in Kent and Sussex counties. There are several choices including things like immersion programs down to the elementary school grade levels. As I do not have much experience with the DE school systems, I pose the question here.

Are there people on this list who have experience with gifted and talented program and other such special programs for Capital, Caesar Rodney, Appoquinimink, and Indian River School districts for the elementary, middle, and high school levels. In particular the opinion of parents of students in these systems is appreciated.

The questions concern experience at elementary (grade 3+), middle, and high school level.....

- what are your experiences with it
- what do you like about it
- what do you wish it had
- for those with experience at the high school level, what sort
of outcomes (i.e. placement in college, military academy, scholarships, etc.)
are you seeing
- is there a full complement of AP classes at high school level (english, history, math- Stats, calculus AB and BC,
history, etc.)
- what sort of foreign language instruction is offered.
- enriching clubs programs such as student exchange, debate, culture, robotics, band, etc.
