Laural, I lived in SF a long time ago, and briefly--though I have visited several times since. For me, it was such a mysterious city, so many moods, so many contrasts, so many surprises. Yes, miss that.

Your bringing back so many memories, we used to buy a loaf of crusty bread, a dungeoness crab, and some clam chowder from the street vendors and sit on the wharf and watch the sea lions. Oh and those steep roads some scared the crap out of me. Night time was Fab too, the live bands, the food and the street walkers were definitely interesting to look at LOL. Couldn't tell 1/2 the time whether they were he's she's or both. My son get's out of the Air Force this year, he will be going to the SF Art Academy. I'm so jealous this will be the best time of his life.

Laura

Oh I love San Fran. Been there once and do want to return. I was there with my oldest daughter about 8 years ago just for a couple days in the worst storm they ever had. But we still went and did and I was just so excited to be there. Ghirdelli square, the warf, cable cars, bright lights, china town, Golden Gate bridge, Golden gate park with japenese gardens and all the other awesomes I forgot to mention. We did take a tour of the city and had tickets for Alcatraz but the pier washed way during the storm so we couldn't make that little trip. I have been meaning to get hubby out there for 9 years and we still haven't gotten to go back.
Yes, San Fran is an amazing city. Oh the history and diversity!!
