If anyone has a photo of the 1100 block of West 5th St. or of the intersection of West 5th and N Clayton St.,please post. We have a relative who is living there and are curious as to the neighborhood.

Here are some pictures from the Delaware Plane Pull to benefit the Special Olympics.

DA PLANE!

Another team pulling

I have no idea why the rear of this plane was sealed into the hangar door like this

It was really fun, we came in 12th, pulled the 100klb plane 15ft in 8.7 seconds

Here are some pictures that I took of Andrews Lake in Frederica this past weekend. Right down the road from our new home! Can't wait to try some fishing! Ooops! I meant "fishin'"!

I have no pics, but 5th and Clayton is a transitional block between some crack and heroin dominated streets of 3rd 4th and 5th on Hilltop, and the better Little Italy neighborhood between 4th and 12th past Scott street.

In other words.. so so... one block the wrong way and you're surrounded by drug dealers. If you're not used to high-crime areas you'll hate it. To the best of my knowledge there have been a few shootings within a block of that location within the past year or so.

These are all pics I have from around a 2-3 block radius around 5th and Clayton

7th and Scott (2 blocks west, 2 blocks north)

Lancaster and Clayton ( 4 blocks south)

4th and Scott ( 1 block south, 1 block west)

This looks like my closest shot:
3rd and Clayton

This is in the general area also:

Thanks so much. This relative is from a rural area so we will pray for her safety and hope for the best. God bless you.

That's because the plane doesn't fit in the hangar. In the winter they can close the door and keep the elements out.

Finally getting a chance to post some comments about all these pics... thanks everyone for posting so far! Chase, sounds like your team had a great time at the Plane Pull! We didn't make it, as we had schedule conflicts with the kids that day. Our neighbor participated with the 2nd place team... the CRHS JROTC group.

Looking at the Special Olympics website, which I frequent often having an athlete in the house, it seems big fun was had by all. One question... is the armory open for visits? Our son LOVES, LOVES, LOVES planes, and would thoroughly enjoy checking it out.

BTW --- there IS an "off topic" thread here in the forum; probably on page 2 or 3 by now, as the board has been pretty active. Perhaps we need to request that thread be made "sticky" as well???

Mary

Next month I will be down your way MaryCh and I hope to take some pictures of some wonderful Delaware areas.
I posted some of the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk and ocean area last year, to post on CD.
I keep the camera right by my side when I am down there.
Counting the days and packing.............
