Hi,
I think Delaware is extremely friendly to dogs. There is a dog park up off of Route 202 near the library. (Foulk Road maybe?) They are also talking about building one here in Dover.
As for the beaches: Dewey allows them year round. Rehoboth allows them on the beach and boardwalk in the off-season and everywhere else year round. Lots of stores on Rehoboth Ave leave out water bowls and treats and there is a great pet store on Rehoboth Ave called Critter Beach where you can bring your dogs inside.
Every October in Dewey there's an event called "Greyhounds Reach the Beach" where greyhounds and their people come from all over for the weekend.......thousands and thousands and it's so quiet since most don't bark. It's based in Dewey but you'll find them all over Rehoboth as well......seminars, lots of cool greyhound stuff to buy, walks and runs, etc. REALLY fun!!!!

Our St. Bernard is a rescue. At 8 1/2 months she was left in a shelter after being in 2 homes. We have had her since last July. She was 82 lbs. Now she is about 160 lbs. Skip, our Bloodhound is about 126 lbs. We got him from a pet store. Long story on that one. Basically, one of our kids was afraid of dogs and picked him out, so we had to get him.

Buddy seems to have very similar markings to Cassidy. Cassidy will be 2 on November 1st. How old is Buddy and how much does he weigh? He's beautiful! Excuse me, he is handsome!

Thank you so much, Chase from DE, lots of good info and things to think about. We have 4 small dogs now (seniors actually) - they're inside dogs except for quick trips outside occasionally - not planning on any additions as 4 may be our limit but who knows. Limits are definitely something that we'll have to give a lot of thought to (along w/ where we want to go). Thanks again for all the info, it's much appreciated.

Unfortunately it's a disposable society and so many nice dogs end up in shelters and rescues etc. Sounds like your pups got very lucky. I can't even imagine how much dog food you go thru, LOL! (one of the perks of having small dogs!). I haven't seen any St B's or Bloodhounds in our area ever (and there's a ton of dogs here, we live near a lake w/ a walking path around it and try to go over once or twice a day if it's nice out), although I did hear someone brought a very cute St B puppy for a walk here the other nite but I missed it and have yet to see it, hopefully soon.
