Default Red Hatters

(quote)elizamary....Were you really a red hatter. I have always wanted to join. In fact, some of the gals at SM were talking about starting our own chapter. (quote)

Yes, elizamary, I am still a Red Hatter. I was the founding QM for 4 years. Just gave up Queen in Oct because of knee problems. New Queen now but I still belong and we go to lunch once a month. We call ourselves the Classy Cats in Red Hats... It is lots and lots of fun. I can help you if needed.

The first thing I did was go to The Red Hat Society Official Website
and register. I then paid the $39.00 dues and became an official chapter with a chapter number and a chapter name. Since I founded the chapter I was then Queen. They then sent me a packet of information. My chapter grew by word of mouth and friends. When you are registered as an official chapter you will get invitations to other chapter events. Must be over 50 yo to join and wear a red hat and purple attire. If chapter members agree ages 45-50 wear a pink hat until turning 50yo. I did put a lot of time and effort into my chapter to make it more fun, i.e. I had a newsletter and I made up flyers for each monthly luncheon. Each member takes a turn hostessing a month which means reserving and confirming a restaurant for that month. We go to a different place each month. This is nice because I would never be able to go to these different places if it wasn't for being a Red Hatter.

There is a mother and daughter in my chapter. The RHS has open events all over the country besides many open local events. There has been a few big ones in De this year; one at the Baywoods and one in Georgetown. Can you imagine 200 red hats in one place! They have buffets, entertainment, prizes etc. etc. and lots of laughs.

Hi Carole,
I'm going to check this out. thanks for the info

About 8 years ago hubby and I went to Wildwood NJ. The boards were covered with red hats. At that time, I had not one clue what/who they were.
then I found out and became so interested. 200 red hats.............must be fun.
