What is the best town to live in to get the best elementary school in
the Appoquinimink School District, but, still have a manageable / optimal
commute to Wilmington? Does it need to be Middletown or some town north
of it - any suggestions? How is the congestion on Route 1 in peak
commuting time? How long does it take from Middletown to Wilmington?

Welcome to city-data. I've noticed that you haven't been getting many replies to your questions. To share just my opinion, I think you are asking very detailed, nuanced questions that are almost impossible for someone to answer for you. Hopefully, you're getting some of the guidance you need, but ultimately it's going to be hard for an outsider to give you the specifics you're looking for.

As for commute times, I found it very helpful to do a thread search specific to the Delaware forum using the terms "commute" and "Wilmington" I was able to pick out quite a few good pieces of info from the posts that came up.

Hope that helps!

If you check different realtor sites, they give you the option of putting in the school district you are looking for.
