Default Property tax amounts in Middleton or Newark?

We will be relocating in a few months and plan to purchase new construction between $425,000 and $475,000. Any idea on an estimate for annual property taxes?

Thanks

Here are the tax rates for New Castle County. Each school district is different, and if this comes up small, as a pdf file, just click the "plus" to enlarge. Hope this is helpful. It's the most current available on line. http://dedo.delaware.gov/publication...sNewCastle.pdf
If you let me know what school district you're moving to and/or the subdivision, I'll look in the MLS for similar existing properties and what their tax payments are.

$3500 to $4500 in Newark or Middletown. Newark city rates are high.Middletown is also high because they are expanding like crazy, new police dept.etc.etc. Move outside the town limits in either town and your taxes will drop 30 to 40 %. Much cheaper if you buy used. Good Luck Keats

Approx. $600-$700 per $100,000 (Purchase price) in the Middletown area was my experience 1-1/2 years ago when we were looking. And that was after the Appoquinomink (sp) School District referendum was approved. As a previous writer stated, city taxes for either town will increase that amount. I pay no city tax and my tax bill is $1800 on a $330,000 purchase price (2006).
