Default Can you help with Bear/New Castle area?

I am relocating from NJ soon (for a job in wilmington) and saw apartments in Bear that I think I am interested in. The only problem is I am SO UNFAMILIAR with the area! Does anyone know anything about Bear/New Castle area? The apartments I looked at were called Brandywine Woods. Know anything about them? Are they in a safe, clean neighborhood? If not could someone suggest a safe clean apartment complex?

It would be GREATLY, GREATLY appreciated!!!

Thanks so much!

I've been past there a number of times.....very nice looking. But, I don't know anybody who has rented there. Here's their site, which might help.

I lived there for a month (furnished temp housing) in 2006 and the building we were in was relatively quiet. Our 1-bedroom was smallish, but did have a surprisingly large walk-in closet and bathroom. Still. the bedroom and living room could have been a bit larger IMHO. I also was surprised by the lack of road noise from Rt. 1. Good luck.

If you're going to be working in Wilmington, Bear might be a bit of a drive with traffic on Rt40.
Pike Creek (19808) and Greenville will be closer to Wilmington, a nicer environment and the rental prices are all very similar.

I think you'd probably want "Korman Residential at Brandywine Hundred" in north Wilmington, not Brandywine Wood in Bear. Google has some strange address for this community. I never ended up visiting because I work in New Castle but it was on my short list.
