angiei812 is on a distinguished road
Default Any relocation/packing advice

We're coming to DE!!, sold our home and should be moving by the end of June. Please let me know any tips for relocation. I feel suddenly overwhelmed with thinking about finding new doctors, packing our stuff, transfering bank accounts, forwarding mail, etc.

What did you do right? What do you wish you did differently?

Thanks!

Make a list of everything you need to do! Mark every box that you pack, and make sure you wrap all breakables really well. Doctors will want your files so bring a copy if you can or get release forms from your doctors office to take with you. If your bank isn't here, check to see who your cars, boats, Rv title is held by. We happily discovered that our RV loan was held by a bank that had a branch in Delaware so it was a piece of cake for our mortgage to go smoothly. If your hiring movers, haggle, since the housing market is in a slump so is the moving industry, whatever they tell you it's going to cost you can get a few more hundred dollars off. We did.
