Looking for advice : please read (Wilmington, Dover: transplants, for rent, insurance)

New Jersey is overcrowded, crime ridden, and has the highest cost of living .. I am looking for safe cities in Delaware to relocate ..any suggestions?? Also how do I go about finding homes for rent in a particular area ???

Well there are some "safer" areas to live in DE. You need to look farther south. Below Dover is safe, but there are limited jobs. The cost of living is a little lower, but you have to drive 1-2 hours to Wilmington to make it there. I would recommend looking elsewhere. I have lived her all my life and it is really getting worse. My husband and I work in Wilmington and it is packed full of homeless people and the crime rate is sky rocketing. We recommend moving west....we're looking at IN!!!

We are transplants from South Jersey. Lived in Cape May County for 40 years and loved the area. The Taxes were killing us so we moved to Dover delaware and love it here. Homes are 1/2 the price and taxes are 1/4 of what we were paying in NJ. We save on Insurance and State taxes. Crime here is low and the Police are vigilant. Moving to Delaware was a good decision for us.
