Default Pike Creek Area of Wilmington

Can anyone tell me what this area is like? I'm a young, single, professional female looking for rent in someplace safe, nice, and quiet to live in Wilmington that is easy driving distance to my work downtown. I have checked out some places in the Trolley Square area, which would be ideal, but am looking for something that is either on the newer side or really well kept (read: no stained carpet, no gross buildup of dirt in corners, etc. I know a lot of these buildings are on the older side, I just want something clean), which I haven't been lucky enough to stumble upon as of yet. Would it be easier to find something nicer that is a little farther away? Any advice is appreciated! Thank you!

Pike Creek is definitely nice, safe and quiet. It's near just about everything although you'll need to drive to go anywhere. Most people who live in Pike Creek are very happy.......

I agree. Pike Creek is a very nice area with lots of condo and apartment options, as well as townhouses and single family homes. Pike Creek was rated one of the best places to live in this year's Money Magazine, so it seems lots of people really like it there.

There's good shopping nearby and relatively easy access to I-95.

I'd much prefer Pike Creek over Trolley Square.

Good luck with your hunting!

In 2007, Money Magazine named Pike Creek the 79th best place to live in America. There's some interesting information here:

My only warning would be that the drive into the city won't be too fun if you work an 8-4 or 9-5 job.
